For the past two weeks I have had the pleasure of working collaboratively with Prof. Kenneth G Hay, Josef Danek and a whole host of other students and artists from England, Ireland, Czech Republic and Slovakia to create a group exhibition at the Cyprus College of Art.
The theme of the project was Paradise and a whole range of work was created from sculptures using found objects to action painting to performance work to traditional painting and sculpture.
The whole project was documented from the very beginnings where we all worked with the outline of the island of Cyprus to create paradisaical animals, vegetables and flowers to the end show.

... Just where has the time gone!?
Well for my good self, I've spent January recharging my batteries ready for the year ahead and what better place to do this in than the sunny beaches of Goa. The relaxed tempo and chilled out way of life among the Goans really rubbed off on me and I felt myself truly unwind. Even more importantly I was TOTALLY inspired by the many sights of beauty, the endless sunshine and the smiles of the locals despite the ugliness of life for many natives. I spent the who... And what an exciting year it is already lining up to be. I am starting the year working with Skippko on the Watch This Space project where we are working with parents to build confidence. Then I am running an intensive book making project with New Bewerley Community School where we are planning on writing, creating and publishing our own book! Then following that all up, a new REALISE programme in the run up to Easter and a two week painting project in Cyprus.

A new REALISE programme is under way and on the back of the last one we are hoping for another roaring success. The moderator's comments on the previous groups ArtsAward portfolios were great and here is a snippet:
"What a pleasure to look through folders so bursting with ideas, colour, personalized input and a whole range of evidence gathering methods."
How lovely to hear such positive comments about our previous group and their work. Well done guys and gals! Now we are hoping to replicate t... Continue reading...
